A2P 10DLC Messaging Disclosures

How Simply Sterling AI provisions, governs, and complies with A2P 10DLC messaging across HVAC intake, dispatch-triage, and quote-recovery pipelines.

Last Updated: September 29, 2026

1. Overview of A2P 10DLC

Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging using 10-digit long code (10DLC) numbers is the U.S. carrier framework that allows businesses to send SMS and MMS messages to their customers using standard-looking local phone numbers. A2P 10DLC is governed by The Campaign Registry (TCR) and administered by the major mobile carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and UScellular).

Simply Sterling AI provisions and operates A2P 10DLC messaging as part of the automated intake, dispatch-triage, and quote-recovery pipelines we build for residential and commercial HVAC contractors. This disclosure explains how those messages are registered, consented, delivered, and governed.

2. Brand & Campaign Registration

Every 10DLC messaging program requires two registrations: a Brand (the business sending the messages) and a Campaign (the specific use case and message content). Simply Sterling AI registers and maintains these on behalf of engaging clients, or coordinates registration with the client's existing messaging provider.

Clients must provide accurate legal business name, Employer Identification Number (EIN), business address, and a valid use case. Misrepresentation of brand identity or campaign purpose is a violation of carrier rules and may result in immediate suspension of messaging services without refund.

3. Permitted Use Cases

Our HVAC operational pipelines operate under carrier-approved use cases, typically including: service alerts and updates (appointment confirmations, technician ETA, diagnostic results), customer care (follow-up on completed work, satisfaction checks), and marketing where the client has obtained prior express written consent.

Quote-recovery and re-engagement sequences are classified based on the consent held for each recipient. Where a recipient has only consented to transactional messaging, marketing-style follow-up is suppressed automatically by our routing rules.

5. Opt-Out & STOP Keywords

Recipients may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. Our infrastructure recognizes these standard opt-out keywords and immediately suppresses further messaging to the opted-out number across all active workflows.

Recipients may reply HELP at any time to receive support information, including the sending business name and a contact method. Opt-out and help responses are processed automatically and do not require manual intervention.

Opted-out numbers are retained on a suppression list to prevent accidental re-enrollment. A recipient may re-consent only through an explicit, documented opt-in action initiated by them.

6. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies by workflow. Intake triage may send 1–3 messages during an active service request. Quote-recovery sequences typically send 3–6 messages over a defined multi-week window, then wind down. Recipients are not subscribed to ongoing high-frequency messaging unless they have separately consented to a recurring program.

Carrier throughput and daily volume limits are determined by the campaign's registered trust score and use case. Simply Sterling AI configures sending to stay within registered limits and avoid carrier throttling or filtering.

7. Message & Data Rates

Standard message and data rates charged by the recipient's mobile carrier may apply to messages sent and received. Simply Sterling AI does not charge recipients. Recipients should consult their carrier plan for details on messaging rates.

8. Prohibited Content (SHAFT)

Carrier rules prohibit A2P 10DLC messaging containing SHAFT content: Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco. Our systems are configured to reject these categories and any content that violates applicable law or carrier acceptable-use policies.

Additional restricted or prohibited categories include, without limitation: illegal substances, gambling, high-risk financial schemes, and deceptive or fraudulent offers. Clients are responsible for ensuring message content complies with all applicable laws and carrier policies.

9. Carrier Filtering & Delivery

Mobile carriers apply filtering to protect subscribers from unwanted or non-compliant traffic. Filtering may block or delay messages based on content, sender reputation, recipient complaints, or campaign trust score. Simply Sterling AI monitors delivery status and works to maintain healthy sender reputation, but cannot guarantee delivery of every message.

Carrier filtering decisions are made by the carriers and are not fully transparent. Where persistent delivery issues occur, we coordinate with the messaging provider and TCR to diagnose and remediate the root cause.

10. Data Handling & Privacy

Phone numbers, message content, consent records, and delivery metadata are processed solely to operate the commissioned workflows and are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent contact information, and we do not use end-customer data to build generalized models.

11. Shared Compliance Responsibilities

Simply Sterling AI is responsible for provisioning compliant 10DLC infrastructure, registering accurate campaigns, honoring opt-outs, and configuring routing within carrier limits. The engaging client is responsible for lawful consent collection, accurate brand information, compliant message content, and honoring their own customers' privacy requests.

Where a client's actions cause carrier suspension — for example, sending prohibited content or messaging without consent — affected services may be suspended or terminated without refund, and the client remains responsible for any resulting regulatory exposure.

12. Changes to These Disclosures

A2P 10DLC rules are set by carriers and TCR and may change. We will update these disclosures to reflect material changes and communicate impacts to active clients in advance. Continued use of messaging services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated framework.
